Team member Rachael McQueen was selected to play in the Scottish team for the Home Internationals at Panmure Barry on 5th - 7th August.

Unfortunately Rachael only played once when she was up against Welsh champion, Amy Boulden.  Initially ahead by 2 holes Rachael eventually lost 3 & 2, a creditable performance for her International debut.

The Stroyan Cup was won by England with Ireland 2nd and Scotland 3rd.

Rachael is now away to compete in the British Girls Open at Monifieth so we wish her the best of luck there.

WEST  DIVISION  INTER-COUNTY  CHAMPIONSHIPS

Ayrshire was narrowly beaten by Renfrewshire by 5 points to 4 in the 2008 Championships at Hilton Park.

Player of the tournament was Debbie Watt with 5 wins out of 5.

This was a magnificent result for the team who were missing Catherine Malcolm due to family illness.  In addition, the top pairing for the final day, Morag Macpherson and Jenny Linklater were involved in a car crash on their way to the course on Wednesday morning and were unable to play.  Fortunately neither was seriously hurt although the car was!

The rest of the team rallied brilliantly to record a foursomes win of 3½ to ½ over Lanarkshire.

Unfortunately heavy rain on Wednesday afternoon meant that the final singles matches had to be abandoned.
